The first excavations in Naukratis, a Greek colony in Egypt, were started by F. Petrie and yielded very important finds. His student E.A. Gardner continued the excavations after F. Petrie's death. In this book, first published in 1888, E.A. Gardner analyzes the artifacts found at Naukratis.
